Change Management and Structural Design

Change is the name of the game. Whether as a result of M/A's, shifts in the market place or accelerated growth, change is certain. How well organizations manage this change determines their success.

This work focuses on managing change while creating and maintaining a culture with impeccable standards that produces the highest quality product and sustainable profits.

Managing change begins with assessing the current organization structure and culture and it's effectiveness to support the needed changes. Revisiting is a necessary part of the change process and can lead to exciting reinvention of the organization's way of doing business.

This implies major changes at all levels of the system. By working with individuals and their teams we provide the opportunity to explore the impact and results of behaviors, actions and the current structural design throughout the system. This collaboratively achieved perspective and vision is key to managing and creating fundamental change at all levels of a team or organization, as well as alignment and synergy between the various levels, individuals, and units.

Through this aligned effort, organizations can develop a comprehensive change management strategy and structural design that supports and favors innovation, initiative, responsibility and accountability.

Results some of our clients are experiencing from this work are:

  • A strategy for the current culture and what part it will play in the future
  • Creation of a new 'third' culture for success
  • Clear understanding of roles and responsibilities
  • Increase in the quality of services and contact with the customer
  • Assessment of management/leadership skills to determine further training
  • Strategic understanding of complex systems and time management
  • More efficient use of resources and personnel-how to do more with less
  • Autonomy in maintaining consistent service quality and internal development

Structural Design
The City Of New York's Administration for Children's Services sought to create a new structure for developing the effectiveness of their services to the over 90,000 children they serve. They also requested a methodology for statistically measuring this new structure and its effectiveness. The process began with an assessment of strengths and weaknesses within the current structure and development of specific and measurable long-term objectives. A series of training and development initiatives were launched in a collaborative effort with internal resources to meet the objectives. Included in these sessions were one on one consulting and coaching, meeting management, team development, management and coaching development, change management, and statistical analysis. A new long-term design was selected and a phased implementation plan developed.

Organizational Transformation
The North American CEO of a global organization was looking for a way to reinvent the way his company was doing business in an environment that was no longer constant or predictable. The process, involving all levels of employees, management and corporate executives, helped increased customer satisfaction by nearly 90%, reduced turnover by 30% and boosted profitability by 400%. This effort clearly affected the entire company as was evidenced by repetitions of this process throughout the organization globally.
